He also responded to Sky Sports sharing the miss on social media, stating 'leave me alone yous' along with a laughing emoji. Bannan's light-hearted response to the miss displays a bit of humility, and he knows how bad a miss it was. The reality is that it ultimately didn't cost them, and Owls fans will be glad to see their skipper remain in good spirits. Given his quality on the ball, you would expect the Scotsman to score every single time, and he must've just lost concentration at the final moment. Clearly, he is going to be a massive player for Pedersen, as his leadership and influence on the team will be vital if this is going to be a successful season for Wednesday. The number of new players at Wednesday meant nobody really knew what to expect against the O's, and whilst it's only one game, Pedersen will be pleased with what he saw. The side looked well-organised, they showed quality at times, and they got the goals when they needed to. There are ways they can improve, which is to be expected, but Pedersen will see that he has a lot of talent in the group, and winning games is only going to develop confidence and togetherness in the squad. So, even if Bannan could've given the side a more relaxing final 20 minutes, it was a good win ahead of Thursday night's game at home to Bradford City.
