Current Status
George Brown, the 20‑year‑old striker, is making steady progress after a hamstring operation in April. Manager Henrik Pedersen told The Star that the player is running again and has a renewed confidence, but the recovery will take "six, eight weeks more".
Season‑Long Absence
Brown scored twice in seven Championship appearances last season before a hamstring problem in December cut his campaign short. He missed the remainder of the season and was not involved in pre‑season training this summer.
Future Plans
Pedersen said the club will keep Brown on the books until January. "We will see how he becomes fit again," he added. "Once he is fully fit, we can decide whether to use him in the squad or consider a loan move, but he will be here for sure to January."
Background
Brown joined the Owls in September 2024 after a successful trial. He netted goals against Portsmouth and Birmingham City last season. Prior to that, he spent several years at the Ultimate Football Coaching Academy in Leeds, run by former player Isaiah Rankin.
