Sheffield Wednesday have completed their sale to US consortium Arise Capital Partners, avoiding a 15-point penalty from the Football League. The club will start next season with zero points in League One. The sale was completed on Saturday, with the Football League confirming that the club had met all requirements to exit administration. Arise Capital Partners, led by David Storch, Michael Storch, and Tom Costin, have taken over the club and have promised to deliver stability, ambition, and a clear direction. Sheffield Wednesday have endured a difficult season, being docked 12 points for entering administration and another six points for breaches of financial regulations. As a result, the club became the first team in EFL history to be relegated as early as February. However, the club finished the season with a 2-1 home win over West Bromwich Albion in front of 33,750 fans at Hillsborough Stadium, their highest attendance of the season. The club will play in League One next season, but will be relieved not to have had an additional 15-point penalty imposed.
